Whats your 4.5 v8 diesel economy like?

Ive only had my 70 series ute for a while, but ive done a few economy tests on it in the last few weeks.
The first tank i did 598km on 64 litres, the second 615km's on 67ltrs.
The car has only done 4000ks so the engine is still tight, but im more than happy with those figures.
To keep it in perspective the driving has been a mix of mainly short runs doing 60 and 80ks an hour and a few good runs up the highway doing 100 and 110ks, most of the time with the A.C. on. I dont drive it like a granny either.
My mates 70 series isnt getting quite the same figures and it doesnt seem as powerful as mine although both utes are near identicle (tray and bullbar etc).
Has anyone else done or know how other 4.5's perform in economy ...foxy

Are both the utes the same month and year or is one a earlier model than the other because I have been told that the series 1 doesn't go as well as the series 2 so that might be where the difference lies.

Speak to a toyta dealer concerning this if that is the case.

It might be just a case of a different tune.

Yeah, if you go by toyota's figures they say that the ute gets 11.5ltrs /100 and the troopy 11.9ltrs/ 100. By my calculations im getting high 10's (10.7 and 10.9). When i looked at buying the car i spoke to a few people and some were getting awful economy and others good. Im curious if im just lucky to have a well tuned motor? I did the tests as accurate as i could and even if i was out a few litres its still better then the toyota figures
