Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Sorry for the 21 questions but my new 85 swb nt has been for its first mini road trip on some sealed stuff and I have never seen a car bounce so stiff and hard. ( even a suzi) My whole body hurts, It has newish gabriel and munroe shocks but really old spring leafs. They are flat with no curv at all. is this the prob. Should I replace with new ones to make the ride better or any ideas. Thanks guys.,

PS when I say bumpy I mean like NO give and heaps of back to front rocking really quick if that makes sense.

What PSI do you have in your tyres

Put some OME/Dakar springs in it. Light/Medium duty unless you are heavily laden or want to pull leaves and play with height/ride.

I have not checked the tire presuure. How dumb am I. That will be the first check. When I push down with all my weight on the bullbar the car only depresses about 5-6 cm and bounces back realy fast and hard. Is this abnormal. My old suzi was heaps softer and nicer to drive. I have no need to carry lots of weight but I am hesitant to pull out springs due to risk of breakage on our horrible potholes here.

Mid 20's

i ran my 215/75's at 27psi in summer for fuel economy and at 22psi in winter for grip... my 31's are at 20psi and are plenty stiff on road.

i'd be checking the shocks that are in there are suzuki shocks - not shocks with the same stroke from another vehicle... remember the zuk is only 950kg or so, you need relatively soft shocks by comparison to other heavier vehicles.

if your springs are flat then its likely theyre softer than a curved leaf, hence why i think the shocks are suss - however stock leaves shouldnt be flat either...

Problem is your shocks, to make sure take them out and take it for a spin, had the same problem with mine some #$#^^@$$ put truck shocks in the back of my zuke and you could jump on the towbar and it wouldn't
move, just rember shocks is one of the few areas where bigger isn't better......

I have checked the shocks and the fronts are gabriel red ryder part 738079 and rear are gabriel ULTRA part no: 735516. I cant find these part numbers anywhere in an online cattledog and the gabriel USA website says the zook shocks start with a 63 part no:. Do U think this is the issue? They are really stiff. Should I just put some cheap ones in until I start lifting etc? Or does any one have some spare stock ones they wana sell. Used or not??

somewhere on here theres the part number for the supercheap ones... probably your cheapest option for new ones.
