im thinking of getting a rovertym suspension setup for my 110 is their anything i should know i only want a 2inch lift but heaps of downward flex what is the best way to go

what parts are you getting?

as i understand it up/down travel is a combination of shock travel and where its mounted, also your coil free lenght and bump stop set up

you can restrict up travel by extending your bumpstops so they are closer to the axle.... by doing this the side going up stops sooner forcing the downward side down....

your coil has to be soft enogh and long enough to droop...

the rover trailing arms design have good flex,but if lifted your arms may bind alitte, so heavier cranked arms are good(see HSV RANGIE)

the rear shock mounts on rovers are bad design and bind the shock eye to the point where they can break, check out disco 2 rear shock mounts much better,

you may be able to get everything here you need

i was looking at the arms mounts and cones all the pommey gear is a rippoff

yes for some reason the english feel the need to charge 2-3 times as much for stuff that is behind the times and crappy made...

of coarse there are some exceptions but in general i just dont think they have a look and see whats available world wide!

get arms made in oz just as good and cheaper, no shipping and dollar stays here...

wht do you want cones.... retain your springs... balance is more important than travel...

Who makes good rear arms locally? I too have been looking at these Rovertyme jobs.

i want to buy ausy but where i cant believe that some one like superior hasn't started to make stuff for rovers

well rovers arn't that popular compared to landcrusier's, patrols, hiluxs etc etc

and then on top of that take a look at how many defenders are sold, and what percentage mod them other than big arb bar, crap, crap, etc

and the alot that do just go straight overseas....

ring superior and ask them, i think they have a good reputation so why not give them the business, you getting them made there could be the start of a new product line.....

Why not modify your own trailing arms, if you want crank them and reinforce them with a longitudinal flat bar, or add an external tube.
I am making a wedge for the mounting rubber as a preference to a cranked arm, it can be made to suit the amount of lift you have, both by altering the angle and the thickness.
I am not a fan of dislocation cones either but they can easily be made, one of the members on ORRP.com made some last week from some short lenghts of RHS welded to the spring plate. I think a piece of flat bar of a suitable section would be neater though.

I have a number of thing from Rovertym on my D2 smaller things like lower front mounts cranked watt likange and the like
