Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Here is some pics of the mounts I fabbed up for the rear of my sierra so that I could then fit what i believe to be the rear springs off a little Datsun ute.

And heres the shackle angle

They do not flex as much as what i thought they would which is only slightly better than stock but the softness of the ride on road is absolutley awesome!!! I have fitted hilux length shocks to accomodate the extra flex and when i fitted my old rear springs to the front i made new shock mounts and fitted nissan 720 rear shocks(2nd hand) to it. The ride is so nice now it feels better than my 80 series! Can hardly feel the corrugations which is a huge difference over the stock spring set up.

Yeah I saw the ones in your members page and decided they were a good design to copy . I did find tho that the spring wasn't able to fully compress because of the original spring mount hole was where the adapter was bolting through so I had to redrill the hole about ~1 inch up and now it can flex to the bump stops
What spring set-up did you end up doing Nic? Because I reckon longer springs is definatley the way to go!

how thick was the metal you used?

It was made from 3mm thick steel plate. It has withstood a heap of abuse so far offroad and on and seems pretty sturdy.

think mine is/was 4mm all over inc brace with extra bolts.

made it to suit CJ jeep springs. can get the length if u want. long i know that

not put them in yet. did OMEs in the back for now. but still want to try them out
