patrol models

Ladies and gents,
so get me upto speed with the models.

did it go straight from guiii to gr? what year was this 05?
any talk of a new model?
just toying with what to get next and timings re any new model releases and 2nd hand buy pricing.

GR is overseas model.
As many rumours as ever on the replacement and what engine it will be, chances are grenade will be replaced...
but odds on to be non live axle. No time frame though

ok, that being the case the newer shape gu's eg late o4/05 i think are still guiii ?

GUI - Dec 1997 to April 2000
GUII - April 2000 to Oct 2001
GUIII - Oct 2001 to Oct 2004
GUIV - Oct 2004 to Mar 2007
GUV - Mar 2007 to Aug 2007 and are all 3.0TD
GUVI - Aug 2007 to current and have CRD
As said, GR is overseas.
If some of this is wrong then i will stand to be corrected but should be pretty close.

good stuff mate thats what i was after pretty well. so must be guiv and newer being new shape.
and have CRD?

Yep, GUI and II look identical just different choice of engines (2.8 dropped for 3.0). GUIII got new tail lights and head lights but same shape - also introduced 4.8 petrol. GUIV was first of the new shape and CRD was introduced in the 3.0TD in mid 2007.
