I am in the process of wiring up a 1uz in my 40 series and I'm trying to get my head around wiring up the alternator. It has been a while since I've had this running, so I can't remember, but does the 40 series have a charge warning light? Also what does the light on the dash marked 'brake' indicate? Is this as obvious as a brake warning light or is it a check engine light??
Cheers,
Adam.

Yes it should have a charge light on the dash (mine did). Brake light should be for the handbrake and also for low brake fluid warning if yours is hooked up.

Thanks guys, it appears mine has no charge light & my amp meter doesn't work any more
I have since hooked up a new charge light, which seems to work so far.
