Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi folks just bought myself a second hand long range tank for my Hiulx Ln65 I think made by TJM.Put it in but forgot to check the sender unit worked,stupid I know but I didnt do it.Just wondering if there was a simple way of checking it without having to pull it back out.I assume it simply works off the original wire plug.Would it be the same sender unit as in the original tank,in case I have to swap it over.The plug on the tank was extended and I am only using that with connectors to my original plug on the vehicle.Should I put in an after market fuel guage how would this hook up to my truck,just take the wires from the back of my guage on the dash and put them straight to the new guage.Electrical is not one of my most favourite things to do,thats why i thought I would ask the Pros.

i have a lr tank in my sierra and had to play around with the sender coz fuel leaked from dodgy rubber seal. i used some blue gasket maker stuff from repco and it did the job there. tip-dont do the screws up too tight as it splits the rubber.

it has stock sierra sender. its the dash guage as well. now whe tank is full, the guage shows half, and when its empty it reads below the empty line. so it still works but not as accurate. i took out the sender and played around with the floaty adjustments but thats the best u i could get. maybe the sender isnt 100% to start off with though as its common in sierras.
