Hello All,
A few weeks ago I rolled the maverick. The assessor has looked at it and has no idea.... Surprise Surprise.
Its a silver 1990 Mav with lockers, rockhoppers, 35s, dual battery, axt turbo, alarm, rock lights, winch...etc. you know, everything we do.
It has done willowglen, woodpecker, nissan trials etc and ithas had loads spend on it.
They insure me for market value plus accessories and they have only offered $7,500 as they reckon they cant find one worth any more than that. They will take notice if I can find one for sale though.
Does anyone know where there might be one that I can send to them as a refference and hopefully get up near the 13k mark???
Please help, I need more than 7.5k. Polar bear, didnt you get one for 13....... regards Cameron 0412 562 526 growthcorp@optusnet.com.au (send links through if you like to this email.) thanks everyone

Take the 7.5k, and then buy the wreck back off them, ussualy they only want $1000 or so.

Or is a standard one worth more?

who are you insured through?

maybe say take the 7.5k providing you get to keep the car.

give them a price list with parts from ARB or similar which I'm guessing would come up to 40k or so.

good luck.

Probably the best option- sell it for parts or as a repairable write-off or buy another one with the $7500 and swap it over.

if its a stat write off the buy back option may not be available. but that is the the approch I would take, Take the money n vehicle if posable n buy a rolling chassis n cab.

RACQ use Red Book for their market quotes.

There's another one can't rember the name.

But I don't think if you did find another one for sale at a higher price they would up the amount.

Maybe you should have paid a bit extra and try toget agreevalue but on something so old, be pretty hard to get.

Stat write off doesnt stop the car being sold. just means it can never be repaired and registered. Also means major components cant be used to repair another car.

Try and talk them into upping the payout a grand with first dibs on buying the wreck.
Take all your accessories off and scrap the body.

They are not going to pay out for accessories unless they are specifically noted on the policy.
