Hey guys,
I think my lux is a bit too heavy.
Ever since I got the duals, I find I am getting more wheelslip than
before without them, but I have also done alot of tray mods too and
added a bit of weight there, plus the duals and the new crossmember
and track bar, etc, etc...
So I put my lux on the scales at the tip the other day and it weighed in
at 1900kgs!!!

that was just with me in it with 1/2 tank of fuel.
My car is a 1989 Single Cab Toyota Hilux (RN106)
Runs the OEM 22R motor with extractors
Standard G52 5-speed, into Dual Transfer Cases on custom crossmemb.
Still on leaves, rear trac bar, Runs 35" Goodyear MTRs
Has modded ARB winch-bar, Sliders, and Custom Tube tray with bars.
Is 1900Kgs too heavy for a 1989 SC lux crawler? Or is this about on par
with other trucks.
Post up the weight of your trucks, obviously lux owners, I am keen to
know what your truck weighs, but post up no matter what type rig you
have as it would be good to compare the weight to other rigs.
Cheers,
Bart

no idea, but at 1900kgs that's the same weight as a ford ute.
and even though the holden utes say 1900kgs as well, aprantly they are slightly over 2 ton.

+ 40kg for dual tcase
+ 20kg x 5 for 35" tyres = 100kg
+ 10kg rear trac bar and attatchments
+ 15 kg sliders
+30 kg rear tray
+ 70kg for front bar with winch
--------------------
Total 265kg, not including other bits (larger battery/2nd battery for winch, etc...)
FWIW (yeah probably nothing....) Kia Sportage 1650kg

Even bog stock cars/4WD's will weigh a heap more than what the rego papers say. Trust me, I work in a weighbridge at night
My 4Runner with 5x 33's, full tank of fuel, brooksy's armoured rear bar and sliders, various tools and recovery gear and me in it comes in at about 2.3t.

I drove the new sterling at work the other day and she managed to gross 26500 kg . Only 4 tonne over

. Boss buys new trucks and doesnt put scales on the suspension. I like the old freightliner they gave me instead of the new POS ford.

go to the dump, at the entry and exit are weigh bridges, you won't pay a thing cuz you arn't losing any weight....if it does show up as losing weight, take them to court for having dodgy scales

Mate that was an estimate of the extra weight over and above the stock tyres on stock rims, ie stock probably in the order of 20kg each,
+ 20kg for the wide rims and large tyres = 40 kg each.
