it can be done best left to an engineer as it requires heating to be weld and cooled properly but that said we get cast manifold welded and all that needs to be done is machine the flanges as they distort during welding. i had a cast manifold weld for my cruiser sa it had cracked on the wastegate and work fine they welded easy took then half a day to do

you'll need a fairly hot oven to do it ...... something like a Pizza oven is great !!!..... problem may be the local pizza hut !!!!!
other option is obvious .......
STEEL
make up a plate that bolts to the motor (dont forget it needs to be cut to allow for the flywheel too !!!) and a plate that bolts to the g/box... I'd suggest 10mm plate for both of these ....
line up the motor and g/box ( with flywheel and clutch fitted)....
cut a series of small 3mm plates about 80mm wide, slightly tapered so they go around the clutch, and fit then tack weld between the two 10mm plates....
fully weld.....
get machined so the 2 mounting plates are parralel.... ( may warp during welding unless you leave it all bolted together)
then paint !!!!
here's one I prepared ealier !!

to weld cast its got to be preheated to 150 deg then cool down very slowly
Preheat your oven to 150 deg turn it of when your ready to weld then chuck it back in the oven while its still off, when the oven is cold it should be right. And don`t weld the cast on the ground like concrete or anything thats cool.
