centre mounting winches

just curious to know how much work is involved in center mounting a low mount .not so much the mounting of the winch itself but running the cable.it's for a gu ute if that helps.even info on people who do it in bris

pretty easy. few eyeets or 150mm runs of tube from whinch to front of car

Does doing it this way abrade the cable?

most of the center mounted winches i have seen, face the rear, go to a pulley block at the rear of the vehicle and then around and to thje front.
this way you can winch rear or foward...
all rear winching is a double line pull....

you flange the tubing so it has no sharp edges. and incorporate a bend in the tube if the cable needs to change direction.
best setup i have seen was kym boltons, if you ever get a chance check his setup out.
at winch challenge the guy i was naving for used a piece of tube from front to back in one solid piece and when the cable broke that was it for the SS we had to finish there and retrieve the rope with a bit of that yellow shit sparkies use to pull cable through. not much fun if your doing hard winches on every SS with an old rope.
