Tuning diesel after fitting turbo

Im having issues with my now turboed 3ltr hilux.
I brought a turbo kit, boost gauge and egt gauge and fitted it all up. The paper work that came with the kit said turn the fuel screw on the back of the pump 1/4 of a turn. I did this and could hit 650c just by going up a slight hill, I tryed 1/2 turn just to see what would happen would hit same temp just by putting my foot flat to the floor. Went back to 1/8 and will just hit 650 on a steepish hill.
Proplem is im gettin very little power gain.
Alot of people say when the temps get to high shift down a gear, my problem is that the more i rev it the hotter it gets .
I have this fairly steep hill i go up on the way to work. When i was stock i would be doing 60km when i get to the top, after the turbo on a cool morning i can get 80 but in the afternoon i only get between 60 and 70km/h.
It seems to be affected in a big way by a 20c outside temp change, other people i have talked to say the heat dosent really affect them, they are also non intercooled.
The boost gauge reads 9-10psi and the egt is 650c so why dont i have any power?? The inj pump is set right and it has 32-34kg compression (which is like new). Also no matter where i put the fuel screw it dosent blow any smoke
Any ideas ??
Thanks Shane
