So my NH shorty won't start. 6g72 engine.

I thought it was the battery but it wouldn't even jump start so I hill started it and that worked. The battery earth seems fine and it started this morning.

So, any thoughts?

I had a problem with my startermotor. Sometimes it would start, sometimes not. Ended up taking it to the mechanics, he pulled it off and it was full of mud.

Are the electrics fine, ie can you hear the solenoid engage when you turn the key?

welcome to my world,

i have had this problem for the last 4 months weekly. Its been at the auto eleccy 7 times since january, sometimes for weeks. I swear to god iv replaced half of the ignition system, tried several computers, efi relays, and now its got a new coil in it, and its running which is all i care about. but if its not breaking axles, it wont start, :bad-words:

but its going for now, i think the longest run iv had is four weeks straight where it worked, fingers crossed ey.

Yeah All I can hear is a click and no start. That's why I thought it was the battery not having enough power. It would be likely that it's full of mud. I'll have a go taking it off on Friday. Not much else I can ShortyIQ do now!

Well i replaced the starter on Friday and now she kicks like a mule when you turn it over. Pretty safe to say I picked the right part to replace.

KL - have they looked at the starter at any point?
