windsor conversion fuel pump choices

Post by chunderlicious »

ok coming time to hook up the fuel system on the patrol, ive got a great deal on a holley red and was wondering if it is big enough to supply enough fuel to the swirlpot for my efi windsor. the pot is only 1.5 litres and im running a bosch 044 fuel pump to the engine. will the red be enough?

there is also the option of gas if its feasable
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

The red will be more than enough as long as you are running your fuel rail return back to the pot.

the holley pumps are noisy, there are plenty of others around that can flow the feul you need with half the noise and twice the reliability

carter FMP4600HP 100gph at 8PSI

carter FMP4070 72gph at 6PSI (on paper equals the holley red pump)

holley red pump 71gph at 4PSI 97gph free flow.

in your setup it will be pumping free flow.

Mate a standard Facet ticker pump will maintain fuel to the swirl pot ;)

Just put any stinking pump in you like :D
