idle adjustment on a 4.2 efi petty

Hi guys can't seem to get my idle under 1100rpm can someone explain how to adjust the idle on my TB42 efi......

could that indicate a vacuum leak?

could be an inlet manifold gasket leak, mine had one.
grab a tin of "start ya bastard" or "aero start" and spray it around your enginebay anywhere you think there could be a leak, if theres a leak revs will increase.
idle adjustment is done on the idle control valve located at the rear of the manifold near the firewall from the drivers side. i can post up a picture this afternoon if you like.

hey,
ok heres a picture which shows the idle adjustment screw.
now from memory you twist it out to decrease revs and in to increase revs, or it could be the other way round, ive forgotten sorry.

No worries thanks mate l tried turning it but l think it's seized so sprayed wd40 on it and will try tomorrow...

All fixed thanks guys for all your help, without these forums alot of us would be shelling out a fortune for the things that are easy to fix ourselves.....

no problems mate, the info i provided was from the gregories manuel for nissan patrols petrol version, in the back it has an updates section for the 92 onwards models equipped with EFI

best $40 i spent.
