80 Uni VS GQ Uni
Just wondering, on first glance a GQ uni looks larger then an 80.
but measured what we could without pulling the shafts apart and not having 2 unis out. they look very very similar.
can anyone confirm are they identical or different items just similar.
this is more of a fingers crossed thing. as i have now found out GQ tailshaft flange(rear) is too large to fit with re-drilling onto an 80 series diff flange.
and the design team feels it is too dodgy to run a larger plate as an adaptor with holes drilled in it to suit both flanges.
thoughts on this? in a low speed vehicle, just trying to get built for TTC in 24 days. then i can get a better custom shaft made with time and $$ on my side.

Hev has allready had custom shafts made. And didnt check that he could get it to fit before hand.nottie wrote:Try a GQ 2.8 diesel shaft as the flange is smaller but from memory the uni is bigger ( i could be wrong on the uni).
But the bolt pattern and the flange at either end of the shaft is deffinetly smaller.
