Hi All
Hypothetically, if my wife was "spending" $7000 on unnecessary plastic surgery and I was to spend a similar amount on the Mav', what would you suggest?
I'm thinking turbo kit, diff gears (to make up for the lost power due to the 35's) and air lockers. If can't afford both air lockers, I'd get the front first.
In relation to turbo kits, which one?? I'm getting the feeling that DTS are preferrred by alot of people. What about Denco or any others? How much drive in, drive out including 3" exhaust system.
Any help appreciated.

if u get a turbo kit u won't need diff gears ....
air lockers front and rear
i have a safari turbo and intercooler kit on my GQ ute and yeh ... pushes the 35z no worries
Transfer gears and get ur self some tube accessories too

I have a turbo, and still need the diff gears...
I'd go a supercharger over a turbo, and see AWILL4x4 for an intercooler his are far better than anything on the over the shelf market.
Maybe some seats for comfort?
For me it would be:
Diffs
Supercharger
Intercooler
Lockers
Seats

Get yourself a better looking wife who doesn't need the $7k of plastic surgery and spend the whole $14k on the rig, that way you can buy most of the stuff that the others have mentioned . . . . easy!

Problem is when you trard them in they usually take the house and the car and clear out the bank account and leave you with nothing. So better to not up grade that one. Unless she really makes you

I once defended the amount of time and money that I spend on my rig to an ex-girlfriend by saying that it was the only way that I could make the thought of driving over to see her mother bearable . . . I wouldn't recommed that to anyone else going through a similar process
(sorry for stealing the original thread)

In my experience 35's Turbo and 4.3 are just nice for off road & highway 4.6's are good too, but too low if u run smaller tyres for on road ie 285's etc. I couldn't imagine 4.1 gears with 35's off road little than on road YUK, but it's what you prefer & how much you spend. Mine is ideal with the 4.3's from an rb30 although it is a pertrol 4.2. I would go two lockers & put em in myself about $2400, turbo kit $3500 and 4.3 diff gears about $1200. It would be better to get the lockers fitted to the diffs when they r out easier. I know someone that can fit it at a reasonable price (no not me) then all you have to do in put em in. GEt a supercharger from alljap for about $350 approx it think & get one of the bigger ones. That's what I've got for the petrol although I haven't mounted it yet - still collecting the bits ie efi manifold etc. I know they are putting them on V8's and they go really really well. Once you go to 4.3's plus you will never look back....... in my opinion
Hope it helps

Ta All
Your advice is most appreciated.
Good idea Red with the 4.3's, I was looking at 4.6's but the 4.3's + turbo should be good enough. I've also looked at the supercharger angle, the Alljap in Virginia was selling them for $295. I was looking at a cheaper option as I didn't really want to spend $4000 on a turbo, but when wifey says she'd spend $7000 on boobs, sounds like a cue to spend up!!!
The reason that I'd be happy to spend all in one hit is to get new R&P's installed same time as F&R airlockers to save on install $$ of getting one done now and the others later. I'm with ya!!
I've got a couple of emails from guys who have put the blower on TD42's, if you're interested, PM me.
Yes Wendle it is BOOBS, if you give me your air lockers I'll send you a photo.....If you give me your car you can touch!!!!
