What you doin bloke? whats the plans?
Sorry to bother you Aquarangie, but HT eng. axles, who are they as i am looking at the axle up-grade option now. Was looking at going maxi axles but your suggesting might be something better out there??Aquarangie wrote:Cloughy, don't panic thereI'll still be in the LR fold just that it's time for a new project and something that's a bit more multi-purpose for several reasons.
Might think I'm mad selling off the Rangie complete but this will give me the funds to build a new beast. It will be a Rangie, Discos just don't do it for me even though they can be had for good prices these days and i couldn't dare to cross over to the dark side. probably run ARB air lcokers with HT eng. axles all round (easier to swap out than maxi's ever were)
Once I clean up all my Rangie(s) I can get started. Watch this space.

OK cheers for that, so they not called Maxi Axles any more, but still confused with Aquarangie's comment about the HT's being easier to swap then Maxi's ever were.Slunnie wrote:Maxi was closed and various parts of it sold off. HT axles is the fella from Maxi that made the axles and has now gone out on his own. It's still the same thing.
The maxi locker had the locking dog slide on the axle half shaft. The splines for the locking dog were bigger than the hole that the axle slides into in the hub when assembling so to put them in you need to take the entire end off the axle. The ARB lockers have their locking dogs built into the hemisphere so you can have an axle that will just slide straight into the end of the axle housing without pulling the brakes and hub off to do it as there is no longer a need for the big splines for the Maxi lockers locking dog.kitacooch wrote:OK cheers for that, so they not called Maxi Axles any more, but still confused with Aquarangie's comment about the HT's being easier to swap then Maxi's ever were.Slunnie wrote:Maxi was closed and various parts of it sold off. But I would like to know more about HT axles. Are they up and running . Are there any contact details for them yet ? Where are they based.
Tax time is coming so time to upgrade the front diff.
Once again sorry for the hijack.
Only if I get what I want for it, otherwisae i'll keep it and salvage the vehicle (maybe an option if there's no buyer soon).GRIMACE wrote:don't do it mang!
