hi folks,

i have a vitara 1.6L efi, and wanting to get a little more response out of it, as it seems to be a little slower now with 235/75's on them.

I was considering the following, anyone had experience with these, or any other words of wisdom?

thanks!

The words "standard" and "power increase" in the one sentence is a bit confusing :?

I grabbed a set of Calmini headers for the X-90, then got the guys at Racer's Choice to put a 2in system to it... awesome

The reason it feels you've lost power is because your gearing is now out with those new tyres. So technically you don't need those extractors you need better bearing. But yes extractors and a 2 inch high flow zorst will help release some ponies and make bad gearing more liveable.

On the same topic, which brand will fit the 1.6EFI in a Sierra. Heard some interfer with the engine mount.

Continuing on with this topic (sorry for the hijack!)
Has anyone tried this extractors on a vitara g16a http://www.suzispares.com/scripts/prodV ... roduct=254

They look kind of dodgy to me, look how long the pipe is to cylinder 1.
Have a look at this thread for a bit of exhaust tech. http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... hp?t=35746

These are the same design as my old extractors, didnt have a problem with them but they were already on the car when i got it so cant comment on power gains.

I think they are wildcat brand extractors. Apparently only a small amount of grinding of the engine mount is needed for them to fit

there is 2 types of wildcat extractors that will fit and have different clearances around the mounts.

Is it really worth paying big bux to fit extractors to a vitara? I'd imagine the performance improvement would be so minuscule that you wouldn't even notice it. I guess I'd have to go for a full exhaust system to notice any improvement. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure of the cost for a new exhaust system (in Adelaide)? I might ring around a few exhaust shops tomorrow and see what they say.

My stock manifold has a hairline crack between cylinder 3 and 4 but there is no soot around it so I don't think its actually leaking any exhaust gas. The only reason I would buy extractors is because of this crack (which has been there for at least 4 years now) but I can't really justify spending ~$250 just to be able to say "hey look, my zook has extractors! "

piccy of the crack: http://dorifto.hopto.org/wifi/pix/_Zook ... Large).JPG
