Swapping TD42 injector pumps - help needed please.

I am fitting a turbo setup to a N/A TD42 using the parts from an overheated donor engine which came along at the right price.
The donor engine has an aneroid fuel pump which I'm thinking I'd like to use - ie swap with the pump on the engine which is getting the turbo.

The procedure for removing/replacing the pump in the (Gregory's) manual looks fairly straight-forward - are there any traps to watch out for?

If I make a mark on each pump which lines up with the same mark on the timing gear housing is the injector timing likely stay the same once I'm done? Does the injector timing gear normally come off easily enough? Dropping the woodruff key into the timing housing looks like a potential risk..... how about the injector lines - are they easy enough to disconnect from the pump?

Thanks - any tips for a first timer will be appreciated as I dont want to bugger this up.........

all straight forward mate, you can get the injector pump close that way but should get it tune but a deisel guy properly.

Timing gear, line up the T and TT marks on the gears first (not important but makes it easyer) loosen the nut on the shaft retaining the gear n use 2 of the bolts from the timing cover to screw through the 2 threaded holes in the gear, these will be the long bolt n will bottum out on the steel mounting plate, to loosen the gear from the shaft. Tighten them steady, one side little by little.

I've just swapped the pumps. Found that to make all the marks and the keyway line up, it was necessary to move the shaft of the injector pump a bit.

Is this OK? Does it hurt to rotate the pump backwards?

should be all good mate, they are very simple inside.
