GU Compressor mouting ( 4.2 L )

Post by Navara82 »

Hi all,

I have just bought me a GU Patrol wagon and want to fit my ARB compressor in the Right hand corner, just in front of the Firewall and behind the header tank.

Has anyone done this themselves and are there any photos of moutning the compressor there? Brackets etc etc

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Ian

For those of you who are switched on it should read L/H corner between firewall and header tank!!

I assume you are talking about the passenger side.
I mounted mine behind the headlight

I had mine mounted behind the panel in the left hand side of the cargo area. Plenty of room for the pressure tank as well. I believe a rear aircon unit usually goes in there for the arab countries. I had the outlet and pressure gauge behind the skinny little cover at the back...............Pete! ;)

Yep, Passengerside under bonnet will be preferable. My GU has the air box behind the Passenger side headlight. There is ample room behind the header tank but the bracket I have to fabricate could be a bit of a drama, I wonder if anyone has any pics of something they have done...

Thanks for the responses guys!

I wasn't real keen on the idea to start with but I eventually mounted it under the drivers seat. There are plenty of rubber bungs under there to run the hose out. I was also looking at mounting it where you are describing but it was going to be a bit tight and fiddily with the bracket
