Value of a Rocky

Hey all,
Still got my Rocky for sale but not had much interest.
I can't work out why, it's either my price is too high or no one knows what they are.
It's a 1990 TD Sports Affeild. Bullbar, towbar, snorkel, 2" lift, 31" muddies, Everything in good condition mechanically. New locking hubs and services steering knuckles.
Any idea on a rough value?

Yes, but of course they don't take into account any aftermarket stuff such as lift, bigger tyres, snorkel, barwork etc.

How much are you asking?
Mods don't generally add that much value. Thats why its always cheaper to buy an already modded car than to build one up yourself. You just never get back what you spend.

Well I paid 5,500 for it 6 months ago. Perhaps I got ripped off to begin with.
Mechanically I've spent money replacing and servicing things, I knew I wasnt going to get any of that back.
I had hoped to get a little back from the accessories it's got but didn't expect too much more. I pretty much need to get 5,500 for it though.
Am I pushing my luck?

I don't think so, I think nick paid nearly 10k for his, albeit a few years newer.
Mate of mine paid more than that for his 1988 ute about 5 years back
might just need to be patient and persistent

Fair enough.
Like it's an awesome rig and sad to see it go but I needed something bigger for work.
If I could afford it I would keep it as well but sadly I cant :(
My main concern is the distinct lack of interest I've had in it.

You didnt get ripped. I thought the redbook price for a SPORTAFIELD was a bit low.
Ive seen 2 black ones in car yards over the last coupla months and both were $9900.

Fair enough...
Well due to the lack of interest and lack of my money I'm currently exploring one option.
The only genuine interest currently is a guy who wants to swap for a 2000 model Falcon Futura.
So I'm going to have a look at his car and if it seems good I'll swap and sell it instead.
I think the main reason for lack of interest in the Rocky is no one is in the market for one or knows what they are.

I know what they are ,& if you want to donate it to a good home, ill look after it for you... even let you drive it when ever you want!!!!! & I cant promis anything, but Ill even try not to modify it too much, just so you can recognise it each time you come to visit... cheers piglet

Don't trust him Buggerific
One look at all his other Daihatsu's will show you how little chance there is of it remaining unmodified.
Some people just can't resist... they would "re-engineer" their dunny role holders on a slow day.

If you buy it i'll drive it up to you but thats about it, ha ha.
Would love to see it turned into one of your rigs though!

Yeah, didn't you all read that article in 4WD Monthly a while back talking about Rockys and Ferozas...."His and Hers - Make it a Rocky for me and a Feroza for the better half"
Nice Rocky on the front of that article actually.... and an old bush basher on the last page
