2" OME Lift Kit into Jimny

I put in my 2" (40mm) Old Man Emu lift kit into our Jimny last weekend, and took in out to Inskip over Easter. After owning the jimny for nearly 2 years now, and after taking it on some "relativly" tough tracks both before and after lift, i can say that it is a shame Suzuki didnt make them like this from the factory.

The Jimny is our only car at the moment and as such we didnt want to compromise road handling around town. Also, as we often load up the roof cage on camping trips, we didnt want to compromise stability on the highway. However, since fitting the lift kit i can say there is a definate IMPROVEMENT in ride quality both loaded and unloaded, and the suspension has removed the bounce that we used to experience on rough tracks. Lateral stability on the highway has not been adversly affected, and if anything has been improved due to the suspension being more progressive in corners.

All in all we are extremely happy with the kit, and have never been happier with the car!

Below are some pictures of the car both pre lift and post lift.

Nice work.

Do you find the rola roof basket adds much drag at highway speeds? I am looking at the same one for my Vitara.

The roof rack adds a little drag, probably knocks about 10% off the fuel economy, but we can still cruise easily at 110km/h on the highway with the cage fully loaded.

IMO the rola basket is far better than the wire mesh baskets as they have a decent wind breaker and good thick bars that are perfect for using racthet straps on. Ironically the Rola racks are often cheaper than the wire mesh baskets anyway.

For us it was all about bang for bucks, and for about $500 including the two roof racks, plus the cage, we are quite happy.

I think you'll struggle to run more than 215's without cutting.
