I have seen one in a Holden HQ ute.
You will have to take out half the front springs on an FJ40 LOL

There are guys who have a business of developing looms for custom ECU setups. Google it.
Do you have the ECU?
If not you may be better going aftermarket such as Adaptronic, Autronic, Wolf etc.
If you have the ECU, the wreckers may be the best bet.
To run a 14CUX you will also need a VSS which the aftermarket fitters can organise.

Just run an aftermarket ecu.

Without a VSS you do not get override injector cutoff over 1500RPM, and no stepper up on slowing to a stop.
But should not have other effects other than errors codes in the ECU.

I have completed this modification in a FJ 45 troop carrier, for the first couple of years I ran the standard carbies with no major problems.
Prior to Tuff Truck 2007 I had the carbies rebuilt and the car ran heaps better but it still didn't sound 100% right we alter found out this was in the distributor and we were unable to find one to replace (for some reason it has a different oil pump setup)so we persevered with what we had.
The only time the car has let me down is in the water at TT06 & TT07, which we rectified this year.
This was rectified fitting EFI this system is a bit of a mixed and matched system . The computer is a microteh running a redundant spark system, using 2 x Hyundai coil packs (mounted in the cabin) and the crank angle sensor from a late model Ford. The rover inlet manifold has had a Ford throttle body and TPS grafted onto it.
This was then all tunned on the Dyno and produced 118hp at he rear wheels and tractive force of 1910 foot/pounds these measurements were all recorded on 35’ tyres

When we mounted the motor and gear box all I was trying to achieve was to mount the engine as far back as possible and have all of the transmission mounted above the chassis rails so I could run a flat belly plate. This meant that the motor was mounted a little higher than normal but nowhere near as high as the old Toyota motor.
In the end I think the front end was lighter by about 200kgs which has made the car climb heaps better.
The flat belly pan makes it easer to slide over ledges and other obstacles with nothing to hang up on. It worked that well that Wicked’s brother has tried to achieve the same thing.
Overall I am extremely happy with the motor, if I wasn’t; I would have changed it before we installed the mog diffs.
PS I do have a Lexus motor, but I will be staying with the rover just to prove a point, you never know I may just have to install a couple of Turbo’s

G'day Stika.Do you have any pics at all of your truck with the Rover motor in it?
Sounds like you have done some nice work. The twin turbos would be great.I've got a single turbo conversion im running on a Rover motor and the torque is unbelievable.
Cheers

G'day Stika.Im running a T04 Garret turbo which runs straight gas through a Gas Research Throttle body.It made 156 kw at the wheels with a huge amount of low down torque. Its not actually in a 4wd but a Rover 3500 SD1.Its only running low boost 5-9 psi with no intercooler and makes full boost by 1800rpm
The motor itself is very restricted by the old style plenum and draw through set up.When i get some cash i think some injection, intercooler and after market computer will be the way to go
If only it was now
Cheers

On the left hand side is the sealed aluminium box the ECU and coil triggers are monuted in
To the right is the bottom set of coils
In the bottom you can see the steel fuel line that have been run through the cab to asist with protection
This photo is looking up under the dash
The ECU controls the 2 fuel pumps and thermo fans, each of these have isolation switches .
All of the switches in the car have the relay and fuse mounted directly below the switch. The fuel pumps and thermo are also fitted with circuit breakers (mounted directly below the switch) that can be manually reset, this can all be accessed from the drivers seat
