are the vibes on road or off road,

if vibes are on road it is not the front shaft as its wont be driving, if its off road it mightbe front shaft but unlikely, gearbox cross member might need to be notched for front shaft clearance when flexed, depending on shock lengths,

if vibes are on road id be checking condition of rear shaft, unis and spline, as i have heard of people with worn splines, and since lifting it, the shaft os not running on a new section of spline,

also has the rear shaft been flipped and to end. as sometimes they come very close to the chassis crossmember, maybe its rubbing if its hitting bumps down the road,

if the vibes are through the steering wheel the castor could be out also,

only vibes when he engages hubs.

so we conclude must be front shaft.

unis seem ok.

they are not binding.

When you lift them that high and fix the caster you throw your uni joints out of alignment (they are no longer running at the same angle) which can cause vibrations at higher speeds.

when mine was at 3" with 3" arms, I had vibes when my hubs were in, it is a uni misalignment issue, now i've gone to 4" but still with 3" arms, the caster is out but the vibes are a lot less. Its a compromise between on road handling with the caster or no vibes.

cheers

Thats the only way to do it properly.

I had one guy that i sold a kit to say that he's set up heaps of 5 link fronts on patrols...he fitted this 6" kit with 6" arms. He got the caster measured and was about 2.0deg, meant to be 2.5 or there abouts....then he went on saying that the diff pinion is a bit lower than what he thinks it should be yet he was complaining that the caster angle wasn't right either...........what a tool......so he wanted to roll the diff back a bit more to fix the caster yet he was saying the diff was rolled too far back already any way......moron.

sorry, thats been bugging me for a while.

cheers

THANKS GUYS.

was thinking along the same lines.

he wont be amused but not to worry.

dc shaft.
rotate diff so it points at T/case pinion.
rotate swivel housing to correct castor.

sounds familiar

Any ideas as to why this would only happen to some vehicles? Is Nissans build quality that much lacking?

Went and got a double cardon front tail shaft from a Leafy GU Ute. We will get that shortened and hopefully that will solve the prblem...
