Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I have a 1990 4Runner SR5 V6 Petrol Auto and was wondering if anyone out there has done a Gas Conversion on one. I am interested to find out if there was much performance lost or just general comments before I fork out $4000 on getting one.

Another option before gas is getting extractors to see if that makes any improvement in fuel consumption.

Any ideas/comments would be great.
