Was a bit of discussion on these in gen tech.
The usa prices are CHEAP... if they work out similar here they would have worked out sub $300 for a 315... but -billionty chance of that happening.
Dont think they would bother with the old pattern with this one on the market??

Look pretty cool!
Judging by the sizes they have listed i suspect they will keep the old pattern ?

at least they went with a 315/75x16 which lots seem to miss.
Edit:
BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KM2 LT315/75 R16[BFG 24970] $249.95
doesnt seem a bad price round $275au?

17 & 18" rim sizes will be released first, then 15 & 16" to follow later in the year. I'm sure the 15 & 16's would be the better seller here in Australia though.

I'm getting 5x 285/75-16 Pirelli's from the US and the shipping is $350 ontop of the tyres. I'd assume the BFG's are similar or more for shipping.

I'm buying Pirelli ATR 285/75-15 x 5
Tyres $155ea + $447.50 (Shipping cost revised as I now live Central West NSW)
total delivered $1222.50 convert to Aussie dollars becomes $1326.30
In sydney is would have been 1123.59 which becomes $1218.93

265 ea. Not bad
Are they not available in aussie? or are they that much better than what is available here?

The ATR is available, but not in 285/75-16 in aus.
It was just a tyre that meets all of my criteria for a roadie in that size and it topped the US survey from Tirerack.com overall, which excludes offroad performance. I do a lot of hwy k's now and just needed something a bit more roadie than the MTR, but there isn't much around that is roadie like in that size which is what I'm engineered for, especially when I took out the Cooper/Mickey brands - Mickey being mere collateral damage from my despising of Cooper.
For the cost though, I'm not too worried about what works out to $243ea (+fit) in sydney or $265ea (+fit) in Orange as my MTR's in the same size were $312 fitted in Sydney with a deal.
Anyway, I guess I'm saying ultimately, if you cant shop local, then the US is pretty good value with the dollar at the moment even when you add the huge shipping costs, and the new BFG MT has been available over there for a while. I'm not sure yet with shipping tyres, but shipping Tom Woods products for me has been about 5 working days each time, so the wait isn't that bad either - I would expect tyres to be the same.

My estimate is that the 315/75-16 MFG MT km2 would be about
Tyres: US$237ea x5
5 day shipping to a capital: US$350+
Total: US$1535
Total: AU$1667
$333.40 ea assuming no tax. + fit.
