I'm happy with mine, had it for a few years now. Front speaker is loud enough and buttons and dials easy to use on the move. It has ability to program 20 scanner channels which i've never needed to use so won't comment on.

My only problem is button on handpiece stuffs up sometimes. A new handpiece is cheap enough though and easy to replace.

Got one in my new pajero. The only way I could go as the modern jap cars dont give any room to flush mount anything. so far so good.

Just be sure that the 3 year warranty does cover the microphone. This will be the most likely thing to die and I can't imagine it being cheap, since you are essentially replacing more than half the unit.

If you plug the 3440 mic into the 3220 unit it will work just the same. :)

I installed one recently. I like the fact that the unit is totally tucked up under the dash out of sight and the mic plugs straight into a socket I wired into the dash. Easy to remove so can't see any radio in vehicle. Volume is adequate from below the dash.
