Extended J-Top?

Not sure if this has been discussed, but I'm sure some search/Tonka guru can tell me. :D

Shorty Pajeros are great, but a little lacking in space. LWB Pajeros have more space, but that long rear overhang doesn't work as well offroad.

So, how about taking a LWB chassis/running gear, chop the rear of the chassis to replicate the shorty rear, then create a body to suit?

One option would be to lengthen a shorty body to suit? Lengthening the hard-top could be a reasonably complex job, but how about lengthening a J-top? Or do a cut & shut of shorty rear onto LWB front & floor? (Not sure that would work too well...)

We've seen chops of a single cab tray back on a LWB chassis (looked rather good, I thought...) Any photo-chop gurus fancy creating a LWB J-top?

What about just bob tailing a LWB the way Range Rover people do it?

I think the space behind the rear doors would just look wrong. But a photo-chop would soon tell us - anybody?

Why not just hack up the rear quaters to gain in the depature angle? Why go to all that length shrinking the insides? I know I drag my bum alot(NL LWB) especialy compaired to my mates Surf, but it doesnt seem to have too much impact.

Eventually the chassis overhang is the limiting factor - so trim the chassis. :D

Why not dual cab a wagon? Or cut up a Jtop on a lwb chassis with custom tray.

Your 1st pic appears to have butchered quite a nice looking Red Pajero (not so sure on the beadlock however)

There - someone had to say it! :D
