Brake controller: which wire at brake pedal sender?

Hi All,

Got my not so new 1999 DX 4.2D GU wagon home and have starting fitting stuff to it. I have connected all the wires for the brake controller that was in my GQ except for one. The one that connects to the brake pedal sender.

Can anyone tell me which of the two wires I need to connect it to? From memory there are two wires leading of the sender the wires are green and red (don't quote me on the colours as the boss has the car and I cannot check right now).

Can anyone who has a brake controller fitted have a quick look and let me know?

Cheers and Thanks
Mark

I would be hinting towards that colour but if not use a test light to see whihc one lights up when you hit the pedal...

Red came to mind, before I read the post, but you will have to look at the instructions to confirm this.

Even better, take notes as you remove the controller from the donor vehicle.

every model can be different, test it with a test light. the best easyist way is to run it into the stoplight pin on the trailer plug. dont use scotch locks to tap into the stoplight wire, they fail far to often. best to peel back the insulation and solder it, it a bit of a stuff around, but so is loosing trailer brakes down a steep hill because the scotch lock failed

Why would you fuse the wire running down to the trailer plug..
When you fuse/circut breaker the supply power to the unit and if there is a fault anywhere between battery and trailer plug the fuse/circut breaker will pop.....

That how we fit hayman reese unit all the time...
