Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey, im new to this website my brother put me onto it and said it was a really great site for advice and everything 4x4. Anyway my question is, i have $10,000 to spend on a 4x4 and was looking at a Hilux Surf 92 model turbo diesel. If anyone could give me some useful tips on what to look for when buying and that sort of thing would be great i also wanted to spend about 3k to 4k on mods for it. Any advice would be much apreciated thanks guys

for the money i would go a gq or an 80 series, plent of room heaps of cheap mods/accessories and will be more capable with less work (both coil spring live axle front and rear, but it comes down to the sort of driving you want to do.

I personally wouldn't buy a surf again, kept bending idler arms.. But what bigcam said would be the go, look around but it really depends what sort of wheeling you want to do.
