Looking at buying an 80 series:
1997, Standard, 4.2D, 130,000km, Bullbar, Sidebars, Sidesteps, Towbar Rear spare tire carrier, cargo barrier, Alloy wheels. In very good condition.

Is $28,000 a reasonable price?

That seems to be about the going price. If you shop around you can find them a lot cheaper. Up to around 300,000 kms seems to eb fine on a well serviced vehicle as well. I paid $22K for mine and it had snorkel, locker, bullbar etc

Cheers

Thanks Pete,

it was advertised for $30,000 but I have got them down to $28,000.

I'm finding it hard to find similar vehicles to compare prices with. They seem to be either an older GXL with a lot more km's for the same price, or a similar base model without all of the extras and a few more km's for a bit less. Hard to weigh it all up.

HI
Sounds like a good buy if it was privately owned, and well maintained.
Bottom line with cruisers is you dont want to buy a lemon. Most have double that kms, you could look at pickles.com.au and get a ex gov 100 series for that aswell if you were after a later model.

How much more do you pay for a diesel over a petrol?

I seem to be able to find plenty of good vehicles at what seems to be a great price until you find out that they are petrols. I (like every body else it seems) am after a diesel.

Would it be fair to say that you would pay about the same price for a base model 4.2D as you would for say a GXL petrol with the same km's etc?

thanks
Grant
