Hey there,
Im just getting out of a 94 Range Rover 3.9i auto and buying a 93 efi auto GQ Ti, i havnt owned a patrol before or driven an efi one for any extended periods so i dont know what their towing abilities are like.
What i want to know is, would the GQ be capable of towing a car trailer with an E28 BMW M5 on it from melbourne to the sunny coast in qld without a problem or is it asking a bit much? Its just had a full service and the auto serviced and its in good condition.

Towing with Petrol GQ Auto
Shouldn't have a problem, While some claim the TB42 engine to be an anchor, i found them to have plenty of torque for their design, they aren't going to accelerate like a race car, no matter how big the engine is, its designed for low down power.
As for towing, you will be good, but the petrol usage will go though the roof, Petty's keep their speed up when towing most of the time, but they really loose alot in fuel consumption, towing up hill expect to hit 28-30L/100K's
