RD28T head question

Post by KIWI »

I need a new head for the GU (RD28Ti), anyone know if an earlier RD28 non turbo head will fit, or GQ RD28T head?

Cheers

Spend the money & get a new one, second hand ones will crack easily & these engines are prone to it. A new one will see you out even if it does cost more than a grand.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.
Well they are all following you...
No they ain't, I'm just in front...............

Cracked mine last week, Engine Reconditioner sourced a new bare head plus a kit of gaskets and the like from Melbourne for $1500, another $500 labour to put Cam and valves back in, then back to mechanic to assemble engine...

I'd rather go second hand as the truck has a 24mth mechanical warranty on it, so if I crack the head, I get a new one for free
Just couldn't use warranty on this head as the problem was caused from a broken glow plug which cant be removed
