could you be anymore vague?
try doing a bit of search through the bible section, having a read through the pages of the forum and gather some of your own research and then ask some more specific questions as that question is just as easy to answer as "How log is a piece of string?"

you need to tell us the details of what you intend on doing,
short trips only, touring ,how many people to go in it, camping for how long, trailer, beach , rock, mud and so on
the details will help us decide on what you should buy
will it be stock or moded
also, tyre sizes that you plan to run

Hows about tell us some sorts of things you plan on doing... e.g
How much wheeling you will do
What you want to carry
Daily driver
Air-con
Highway cruising
Touring
Go from there and then I'm sure you'll get a lot more replies. I personally gonna say Sierra though Solid axle front back lots of mods and accessories you can do and get for it.

which do you prefer? Apples or Oranges?
About the only thing they have in common is they both have low range and a suzuki badge.

sierra suited 80% off rd, 20% on road. vitara suited 50% on and 50% off rd.
very basically sierras are more rugged and stronger and have more options for doing up but are a little unconfortable to drive. vitaras are ok in the city but still ok for off rd but really need 2'' lift so not to bottom out. its not as rugged but have bigger engines and coil springs so are more comfy to drive and sit better on freeway.
