Plugs on the back of the Ford EF/EL Alternator

Hey guys I got a specific question relating wiring, I allready had the internally regulated Alternator fitted previous, the Ford one it has the main Positive cable that is done up with a nut. Then two small male pins recessed in the alternator. Now I am wondering as I have left over from last Alternator 1 black cable ( I assume earth) and two red ones. I assume one goes from ignition on to excite the alternator to charge and the other is to tell me if it fails the Charge light will come on....?
So questions are
Can I get these the wrong way round and it still would charge...?
Does anyone know what each pin is meant to be, as being of a Ford it would just have a plug that goes straight over these two.
Yes I know of the various other threads on this Im not sure they have really answered my question.....?

When I hooked up my EF alt I got the two wires around the wrong way and the charge light didn't work but it did charge. ??? Dunno how.
I swapped the wires and the charge light works..

X2. The two wires are ig+ and L
One is the light, the other excites the alternator to charge.
Just swap them until the light goes out.

Okay so this is what I did today. Have three wires well four, One being the main positive to the battery thats plugged in. The black wire is just a earth cable so I assume previously the Sooz Alternators had a extra earth cable just in case. Whether this is grounded or not it makes no difference to the out come this stage.
Now I have one Green striped white cable and a black striped white cable.
Plugged in one way I don't get any dash lights on such as charge light, or brake light when I turn ignition on, though Im getting charge at the battery.
Swap them around I get all the lights on at the dash when I turn the ignition on but once its started they stay on. Now I am still getting charge at the battery and my brake reservoir is topped up and working.
So Im open to suggestions if there is anything I need to do or have missed out...? An Does anyone know what each plug in the back of the Alternator is Ive been searching on Google for a wiring Diagram or just something on the Alternator haven't come with anything yet. Also open to suggestions here to if anyone has any ideas....?

Had a similar issue with brake and charge light develop recently... could be the reg is shot in the alternator... or as was my case, the pins aren't connecting properly in the clip on housing.
Hope it helps mate..
