Its much easier to use the original bush. They flex as well as any other bush and dont wear out as fast.

oh really...? That means i would have to shave down my hilux pin to get it to fit? um ive already hopped into it with the map gas :D but i got the steel sleeve out of the middle, all the rubber out, but left with another steel ring stuck in there, the outer ring of the bush.. been belting it for the last hour and it hasnt budged.. :bad-words:

Pick up a 6 ton bush press from supercheap for $120? Worked for the crumbledoor. :)

is it possible to run a little bit of weld on the inside to try and shrink it?

Might be a silly idea but it works good at work on bearings and other sleeves..

Sorry i only just looked back in this thread. Its too late for you now but for future reference all you do is use the original bush, The original IFS bolt and the side plate off your solid axle bolt. You just need to knock the plate off the bolt. Factory ones are just pressed onto the bolt. Then just grind a tiny amount off the outer diameter of the IFS bolt head. You will see what i mean when you look at it and bolt it all in.

Get a hacksaw, take the blade off and stick it through the spring eye, refit it to the hacksaw frame and cut through one side of the steel ring.
Should come out pretty easy after you have hacksawed it through.
