80 series 40th free wheel conversion

Post by josh73142 »

I already searched 5 times but i couldn't find any info about a free wheeling hub conversion for a 40th ann. 80s with the viscous centre diff (no cdl button) basically i want to know if the process for the conversion will be different, i ask because i know that usually you must install something to the transfer, but is it necessary with the viscous centre? I'm lazy and if i could just throw some free wheeling hubs on there i will. also would it affect the ABS?
cheers in advance for any info..

You will loose ABS....same proceedure but you have to ask the question why?? I run a double cardon shaft from the rear of a dual cab lux in the front of mine.

you loose ABS because the sensors realy on the axels spinning , thats how they detect when you lock a wheel up.

That why i never bothered doing the conversion on my 100series because of the abs.

The only benefite is less drive line wear or if you want to run a autolocker in the front .

From what i have heard makes F#######all differance to fuel economy
