okay on the mrs's gu 4.5 auto she gets a strong coolant smell when she puts the heater on thats all it got at the moment

any ideas cause im as

Check your coolant level and stuff.

where rubber hoses go into firewall pull out and join (so no workie heater) run for a bit and recheck if smell goes away then heater core is cactus (pain to change) however looks like ... smells like ... must be ...

also check for obvious leaks in floor pan for engine coolant
