NH 2.6 using oil

Hi All
I have recently purchased my third pajero and it is a bit of a run around but mainly for fun. It a 91 NH 2.6 Anyway when I purchased it , it had a blown head gasket so I pulled the head off and it looks great, no lip and clean boars, the head also looks great seems to have been rebuilt not to long ago. So I reassenbled it and it fired up and runs quite good, could do with a carb kit. It runs duel fuel and I have run several tanks of fuel and gas through it and its still running great but it uses about half a litre of oil to about one tank of fuel. There is no smoke blowing out the back and it doesn.t leak a drop on the ground. I have been told that once these 2.6s have been rebuilt that they will always use oil, but where is it going. Anyone got an idea?
