Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey guys, thanks for all the previous help. What things do i need to look for when buying a 1984 60 series landcruiser diesel 4.0. It is the 2h motor i believe. Is there anything such as oil leaks, gearbox problems, transfer case problems?rust?Thanks

ive been looking for a sixty myself recently and just about if not all of them have rust in the roof above the rear windows, and alot of them have rust in the bottom of the doors/sills. another common place is around the windscreen and rear glass. as with all cars this old look for the chassis "growing" in between where the C sections overlap. dunno really about mechanical issues other than the 2F petrols drink like fish the 2H deisels go forever if cared for and either of them with and auto is a disgraceful slug. look for excessive smoke from the diesel meaning the piston rings are stuffed.

i just wanna jump in and ask somthing, i just picked up a 60 19 2H diesel

only found a minor leak in the rear of gear box , and cv 2 oil seals easy fix:P


but i got to ask

with the 83 60 which 62 or 61 body bolts straight up to the chassis?
im trying to work out with one was bolted to mine as a replacement shell:) because i need a white paint code
