Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I have recently replaced some orings on the side of my 1hz's injector pump, and only a few weeks later it has started to leak again...

The question is, is there any difference between generic orings and diesel pump orings??

BTW. i have already ordered new genuine seals from toyota today, so should get them sometime mid next week.

All, I know from talking to some diesel mechaincs is this.

There is a new type of diesel and it eats at the old type seals, Bio-diesel is a major one.

So you need a special plastic or ruber compund in the seals to make them last.

It's not just the o-rings you also have a set of sealsas well,

what happens is that the o-ring busts first you get that fixed and the new o-ring put extra presure on the old seals which forces them to go bust later on and you need to replace them as well.

the o-ring is a safty thing or waring that the seals are old they only last for around 150,000klm apprantly before they need to be replaced but in saying that, all the diesel mechanics have told me the new seals will last forever now, and you can use any type of diesel you want.

Yes there is. They have to be have viton in them.

Well, i thought they would be different because of failing just after a few weeks... anyway, i suppose the new genuine ones will be fine.

Some time ago i replaced the top cover seal, which is still good... now i will replace the 2 side orings and 2 big orings on the distributor head (where the injector pipes come out) is there anymore i should be replacing while at it? and anything i should be looking out for?

Viton is a tradename (like Teflon), so if someone else is selling flouropolymer seals then they're the same thing.
