Hey,
Have a SWB Vitara. The spring inside the manual locking hub has snapped. is there a company that can make new springs?
local wrecker wanted $100 for a whole hub that was older than mine. wouldnt sell spring seperate.
Cheers.

Ask another wrecker.
Custom springs are expensive.
Ps why did the spring break? I've never seen that before.

I've seen it heaps of times with the AISIN hubs.

There is supose to be 2 springs in the hub, Ive seen some very neglected hubs but never seen a spring break either.
If you have a manual check that first, or undo the other side to compare.

Just go to a spring works place they will make up a new spring for about $10. Thats what I was quoted.
I had never heard of the springs breaking either before this happened. The hub wasn't in the best nick though when I pulled it apart.

I'd put money on them not being as strong as Aisin.

have both sitting on my bench. the warn set use thicker gauge springs and have nearly a full turn to lock in. look stronger to me.

cheers.
well theres only one spring not two in mine. and its snapped dead in the middle. was always hard to turn but i put to much pressure on it and i think thats what caused the snap, plus it was coverd in rust.

you should be able to still put in 4x4 ! would of been a pain in the but in 2wd.
once the hub case is off an spring is already out you can use your fingers to engage it in or out for temp fix.
