Only if the engine is running.

If not, there is no lubrication being pumped around the auto transmission and damage could/will occur.

When the engine is running and the auto is in neutral, being towed, the trans fluid is still circulating - no issues.

If it is an all wheel drive, are you talking about wheel lift tow, if so, then the lifted wheels will want to turn.

If you are talking about rope tow, then all is OK, provided the engine is running.

If for a short distance, say 500M, no engine running would be the maximum, at a guess.

Tx case in neutral might just happen to prevent back driving the auto, nice spiel but :D

Try and get your hands on an owner's manual, should give you Toyota's version of how to tow
