Hey guys i have searched but not much come up....

Here gos.

Was headin out bush on sunday got to meeting spot all good headed off and we hit a hill still on the black top and it lost heaps of power! Had to drop to 1st just to get up the hill! ANy way stopped and cleaned out the carby and it was good for 5 minutes!

Then it did it again but heaps worse lost absolutly all it's power!

Had a spare dizzy and leads so changed the dizzy cap and leads and it went good for about 15 minutes then i could slip the clutch heaps and i would just move!

Now when we left the meeting spot it was blowing a little bit of smoke and by the time the 3rd time it lost power the smoke was hammering out!

Mannaged to get home JUST! Idels like a dream a little bit of smoke but as soon as you sink the boot in it wont take off and back fires but when you finally get to 80k's is all good but has no power till you get ther!

NOW is my motor fuc%ked?
Is it worth tryin a new set of leads and plugs?
Is my carby rooted?

CHEERS GUYS!

I had a similar problem the other week, no smoke though so probablly different issue, anyway my problem was a coroded fuel line between tank and filter, was sucking air, it would have enough fuel to idle but was not getting enough when revving. only found out when I got underneath with it running to look at the filter, luckily its clear and I could see air bubbles moving through the system.

Yea mate what color was the actual smoke that was bellowing out. For your sake i hope its a fueling problem. Possibilities from the description u gave.

Fuel starvation (lean burn)
Causing the backfiring

Clogged fuel filter
Cracked lines
Leaking fuel pump
Clogged carb

Overfueling (rich)
Puffing smoke(black)

Choke is stuck on
Wet or clogged air filter
Or again something floating round in your carb.

Hope ya sort it out

Cheers Dan

Check the vacum line to your vacum advance on the distributor, as well as your carby choke lines (disconnect choke linkage if you have to). What color smoke?

Cheers guys if it's a head i have one here!

If it's carby i can get a nikki with the cam and every thing and if it's a motor i can get the motor and box at a good price!

The last colour smaoke that came out was a bluey white colour! I always thought white ment water and it did have some sign of water in the air box but hadn't been through water that day only the sunday before!

BUILT4THRASHING! Will be off the road till i have the money to fix what evers wrong!

If i have to save will be a few weeks for a motor if something easy a week! Just gunna get a list off here and go though it all before i buy a new motor! ;)

depends on whether you warped it or not... if you really munged it, it could be new engine time... if its just leaky then the news is a bit better =)
