12V boat wiring advice

I have some left over auto electrical wire rated
3mm - 10amp
Can I use this to wire up some 12V nav lights on the boat?
There are no instructions for installing these.
Two wires pretty thin gauge but looks like that solder wire stuff
come out of the light. 1 Black (earth) and 1 White (power)
I think anyway!
Can I join these with crimping connectors then silicone?
also
The fuse/bus under dash have 20 amp fuses in place.
Should I change fuse for nav lights to something lower?

I recently wired a boat completely from one end to the other using heavier wire than that, but for nav lights only the wire should probably be fine; do one run for each nav light and leave the 20A fuse in.

I'd solder the connections up rather than using crimping connectors.
