coopers are rubbish, Probably the most overrated tyre possibly second only to mickey t. I blame 4wd action and all the dicks over there sprouting off about how there coopers are the bomb in hardcore terrain but there idea of hardcore is a puddle that splashes onto the windscreen.

Get yaself some boggers :onfire:

I’ve done about 70,000 on my Coopers (ST) and only had 1 puncture, a branch went into the sidewallwhen they were 2 weeks old :bad-words: …….
I mainly do touring stuff, trips into the Vic Desert’s and outback and have had no problems.
I’ll be buying Coopers next time around, Ill get 100,000+ out of this set.

done over 30,000km's including 5 desert crossings and a 16,000k trip where nearly half was dirt roads, and I regularly go off road with them and have never even had a flat. My first set lost a few lugs but this second set has done heaps worse than the first and look brand new.

I love them

I disagree. Different horses for different courses my friend. It also comes down to the person driving the car.....

Most of my mates that have run STT's (not ST's) have had issues with poor life and also had a few warranty replacements, hence haven't gone back to them. Saying that, there's an aweful lot of happy Cooper customers out there too.

Yep understand what you are saying everyone has a different need and expectation of a tyre - Personally i do very little road ks so am comfortable with a super tough bias ply but that doesnt suit everyone

i think you must of had a bit of bad luck... although i did hear of a recall of the cooper st about 2 years ago

i treat my cooper st's like trash, actually worse sometimes, absolute no respect, any how, they have proven to be good, ive got just over 35K on them and they have about 30% treat left

they do about 75% road driving, with 15% dirt driving and the rest a mix.

I have had an issue with the lugs on the sides ripping off in rock... but thats all

im on 44psi on road to 25psi off road, and are rotated every 10k.

im rather happy with them, and i would get them again

i use mine only offroad, have another set of road tyres....they get abused, I spin em alot on rock, mud, gravel and bitumen and there fine. Also bounce through bog holes with god knows what in the bottom and no holes so far.

35 inch STT's by the way, would I buy em again....yes but I'm selling em to get Pedes as my mates car is a carbon copy of mine and just does it easier with them on nearly all surfaces, the STTs are only better on road and sand.

Please keep this thread going.

I just got rid of some STT and was planning to buy some ST due to the hway use its doing these days.

BUT, might have to put up with fast wear for some great durable tread.

Cheers

I had 31" S/Ts and was very happy with them. A little noisey on road, but excellent wear - I sold them after 30k km, but there was still 10mm of tread left. The STTs aren't wearing as well - I think I'll be lucky to get 50k km from them.

iv had st and stt and will never buy them again.
st's lasted 35,000 and had to replace some in the mean time due to punctures and excessive chipping(or more to the point falling apart).
then moved to stt's. in 30,000km i replaced 5 tyres. again i had tyres fall apart and slashed side walls. not to mention the repairs from punctures.
there is a class action law suit being drawn against them due to the poor quality of there tyres.
every time i spoke to cooper they would blame the tyre pressure. i always changed pressure for every situation and nothing mad a difference.most of my driving was touring so not to much serious stuff
they have a great marketing campaign, if only they had a good tyre.

also dont try to stop on a wet road they have no traction

I have had 3 sets of Coopers (31") on my old 1983 NA Pajero SWB and my 1990 NG LWB Pajero. The first set of Cooper ST's got me 117,000km (with about 3 or 3 punctures) with about 10,000km to go, but overall I liked them. I didn't have too many problems with them. My second set of Cooper ST's I got rid of after about 80,000km due to one irrepairable puncture and uneven tread. They were around 75% worn. This set I have now are STT's. At first they felt perfect in every way (on road and off road), but now after 50,000km wear, the front tyres are unevenly worn (the rear's are doing ok), and very noisy on road. I am looking at replacing them some time soon, but thought that I would try another brand. This is not because I don't like them, but because I would like to try something a bit different for a change. I know that eventually I will end up back on the Coopers, but next time I will be going for the ST not STT.

the same as keithGU42, stopping in the wet is a tragedy, but their good in the dry.

I did forget to mention though that when i do rotate them, i get a massive vibration at some speeds for the first 200 kms after rotation.[/quote]
