Drop shackles the solution???

I have leaf over front and back, but the front leafs are pretty much flat and the front sits 2 inches lower then the rear. Will 2 inch drop shackles fix this problem?? If not, what will?

And with the extra 2 inchs will anything have to be adjusted, front shaft??

Pic links below ;)

Thanks a heap.

drop shackles will make no change in ride height.

extended shackles will increase ride height by 50% of the shackle, i.e. a 2" extended shackle will lift it 1"

So either of these then??

I only want about 2inches so the car sits level and not lower in the front.

Should the leafs be flat like they are in the pics?? Anyway to get the U shaped bend back in them?

With the front it may need castor wedges fitting and if shockies are to short the shock will be at max drop and give a crap ride. The first ones are available through ripco and so on and i'm sure you'll get them cheaper than them ones.

Yeah or they sag to the right, Parabolics are good for keeping there lift.

Mate..Those springs are stuffed, sagged and shagged... get yourself some newies.
Dont fart around with extended shackles til you get your springs right...

My opinion based on years spent building and re-building fj40's...

depend on what you want.

pretty much all aftermarket springs will add 2 inch lift - not many make standard height ones.

can anyone advise if standard lux shocks will take a 2 inch lift?

you also need to take into account the need for new bushes which would be replaced at the same time.

You maight also need to consider replacing your old shackels if the old ones are rusty on the thread.

I priced cheap ones in the past and just under $300 will get you springs shackles and bushes.

I have seen several sets of bush kits on ebay which seem quite cheap, but i have found cheaper springs else where.

If you do a search you will find other info in the forum from people rating differant springs as some people have found the cheaper ones sag so fast that in 12 months your bkac where you started. same as all japanese standard springs fom 80s and 90s sagged like buggery, nissan toyota im looking at you!

a lot of the rear leaf springs i've been pricing are sold as a 'rear end kit'. spring, bushes etc.
