hey im new to this forum so ill introduce myself... im jono and i own a 1992 isuzu mu, with 4jb1t, raised 6 inches all up and on 32x12.5's with black 15 inch sunraisers.... car is black.... but unfortuantley has a brown interior lol ;)
anyways back to my question... i have been researching the options i have with my engine... i need more power as it is very slow on the road.. some ideas have been 1jz-gte, ls1, v6 commodore engine, or sumhow gaining more power from the 4j.
i have installed an intercooler but havnt hooked it up yet as i dont have the money atm for the pipe work haha.
has anyone got any sugestions as to what boost to run on an intercooled setup? also can the little turbo handal a 300x600x80 intercooler....
cheers

i went to the wrekers today..... to get some pipes for my intercooler lol, instead of using the silicon bends i just stole some bends off some old toyota's and shit, all 70mm....
i have a front mount already installed u see... so i want to just use that but the cost of getting it done professionaly is painful. cause there is shit all room in the front.
i was quoted like $2000.... f that lol

I saw them in thailand too. They also have the Fourtuner, which looks to be a new generation of 4 runner. real nice things too.

All the Hiluxes, rodeos and Civics are made there so its cheap for buy one.

I priced up a 4x4 Diesel current shape hilux from Toyota. $16K brand new. Ouch, shows what happens when everyone takes their cut, import taxes etc etc...

On the topic of your car, why do you want to get rid of it? it looks to be in great condition, Do you have any pics of the front mount intercooler? Im keen to fit one on my Jack but Im unsure how its going to fit with the radiator, Air con conditioner etc etc... I have a 600x300x75 waiting to go in. Im sure I could adapt some pipework with some silicone bends to fit securely. Id rather not have to move the rad, air con back and use a ThermoFan.

hey sorry i took so long to reply to this, umm ill get some pics of how i installed mine, it requires a 4inch grinder with a cutting blade.. yess chop chop, a drill and some metal bar to make a braket or 2.
be warned for a mu the front mount is very hard to pipe up, it has shitloads of bends, hardcore s bend areas and will natually need reducers and raisers for the size of the turbo outlet. actually if mine wasnt raised i dont think there would be any other way of getting to the engine without cutting into the wheel well, which looks like balls.

i have a question about mu's jackaroo's and rodeo's... do they all have the same engine mounts? and what year do they change them if they are different at all, because i have found a rodeo quadcam v6 from a 1998 model, and wanted to know if it would drop straight onto the engine mounts i have now... (i know its a long shot) or what other engines drop in from similar chassis models. cheers
