You need to remove the banjo bolt from the outlet pipe on the RHS of the tranny and drill and tap a 1/8 NPT hole thru the centre. You need to buy a short button style sender unit so that when you screw it in, the sensor doesnt obstruct the oil hole to the banjo union. I've got the VDO part numbers somewhere, or just google Whittakers Fleet Solutions for the catalogue. If you're really keen you can put another sender unit in the engine sump and run the two wires to a two way switch so that you can read engine and tranny oil temps off the same gauge.

He'll either tell you to do what I did, or sell you the drilled and tapped bolt and sender unit.
